Re: Forestry Tower at Mt Carleton, NB
Dear Sirs:
Receipt is acknowledged of a copy of your letter of 15 February 1960 addressed to Mr D A Wolstenholme, District Forester, New Brunswick Forest Service, Campbellton, NB
We extend our apologies for any confusion created by our letter of 8 February but apparently it was mutual.
Through the Federal Department of Transport, our legal agents, we had requested permission from the Province of New Brunswick to carry out field surveys in the vicinity of Mt Carleton, NB. We were advised that the Province had granted permission and that access to the area was over roads owned by Fraser Companies Ltd. We subsequently received permission to enter on the property of Fraser Companies from Mr Matheson, Manager of Properties.
In addition, we had an exchange of correspondence with District Forester, PE Boucher at Edmundston on 1 October 1959, but it was not clear whether the tower was operated by the Province or your company.
Our consultant has completed the field surveys but our plans have not been developed to the point at which they might be conveyed to interested parties, but as soon as they reach that stage, we will advise both the Province and your company in order to avoid any further confustion.
Yours truly,
(JW Griffith)
