Power Supply: Nearest commercial power is 80 miles away at Senneterre, therefore use diesel generators.
Communications: Nearest telephone facilities in vicinity of Clova, 40 road miles north of site.
Access to Site: Proceed northward on Que Highway 58 from the southern barrier to La Verendrye Park and continue for about 68 miles to CIP barrier gate located on right hand side of highway. Proceed north-east on road to Clova to sign showing way to Butcher Camp. At Butcher Camp, take road northward to Diaz Camp. From bridge just before entering Diaz Camp, proceed by canoe to forestry cabin at base of hill. From cabin follow foot trail to site. Further information on access may be obtained from Mr Millmore of CIP Forestry Protection Association in Maniwaki, Que.
NOTE: The above approach is from the south. An alternative approach would be from the north starting at Clova on CNR, but this would require having a vehicle at Clova.
Access Road: 5 1/2 miles from road to Diaz Lake Camp, 3 miles of which would be over fairly level wooded terrain along lake edge and 2 1/2 miles up steep slope over rocky terrain.
NOTE: Roads to within 5 1/2 miles of site are good all-weather lumbering roads. (No improvement required).
