Dear Sir:
With reference to Extra Work Order No 5 of 13 July 1962 and Request for Change Order of 13 July 1962 for $168.70, DCL memo of 13 July 1962, Temiskaming Construction's letter of 25 June 1962, this request for change order is not consistent with the facts. The requirement for the Fire Alarm Protectowire System was issued by Addendum No 1 to both buildings and AFHQ Drawing No S-13-1104-7 and S-22-1048-6 (identical drawings).
The requirement for the protectowire system in the trailer was clearly shown on the drawing, including conduit, wires and bell, but did not indicate the distance which the trailer would be located from the Radar Building. It is requested that this request be reviewed by the general contractor and he be asked to indicate the quantities included in his original quotation as well as the additional quantities requested. Something had to be allowed by the contractor for the distance between the building and trailer and consequently the quantities quoted in the contractor's letter of 25 June 1962 are too high.
