Re: Summary of Engineering Costs - Maritime Gap Filler Stations
Dear Sir:
The following cost summary is forwarded for your information with regard to the three completed Gap Filler Stations.
Station | Funds Approved or Requested | Funds Expended |
---|---|---|
Scotch Settlement (relocated) | 2,785.00 | 2,414.70 |
AFHQ #5084 | 2,496.00 | 2,881.09 |
AFHQ #5055 | 8,132.00 | 7,709.05 |
In the preparation of supplementary specs and contract package AFHQ # 5084 was the first package to be finished and the cost of a trip to Ottawa by Mr Crandall is reflected in this cost. The saving on Scotch Settlement will offset the overcharge on job No 5084.
With regard to AFHQ job No 5055, although the funds approved is less than the funds requested, the additional drafting and scope of supplementary specs required on this job were well above the anticipated $300.00 expenditure in our letter of March 29, 1961. If the additional 2 miles of road is to be surveyed, then additional funds are required for that survey or we should make an application at this time for additional drafting funds to offset the increased design cost. Your direction on this matter is requested.
It is noted that change order No 6 covering additional field survey for the new sites was the last change order received by this firm. No change order has been received covering the funds requested in our letter to DCL dated March 29, 1961. It would be appreciated if this change order could be received.
Unless we hear from you further, we will not submit any request for additional funds on the above noted sites.
Sincerely yours,
WH Crandall & Associates
