Information

1 Because of the numerous changes to this unit’s order to date and the decision to adopt a new nomenclature and numbering system for radar sites, it has been decided to re-write the OrgO for this unit.

Intention

2 To re-write the OrgO for 11 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron.

Execution

Effective Date

3 11 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron was formed on a4administrative basis effective 1 Apr 52. Effective 15 Jun 52 this unit assumed its operational function.

Function

4 The function of this unit is:

  • To provide control facilities for fighter squadrons of ADC.
  • To collect, evaluate and display information on the air situation within its area of responsibilities for use by military agencies and Civil Defence authorities.
  • To provide early warning services within the area of surveillance.
  • To commit such Air Defence forces as may be assigned to it when authorized to do so.
  • Command

    5 The officer appointed to command 11 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron, Lac St. Denis is to be the CO as defined by AR (Air) art 1.02 (xxi).

    Control

    6 Functional and administrative control of this unit is to be exercised by the AOC ADC.

    7 Establishment 6213 GCAJ became effective 1 Apr 52.

    Personnel

    8 The transfer and/or posting of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and ADC HQ.
