Written on the back: An attractive closeup of an "Eskimo pup". Taken standing on a boardwalk with a white male standing behind it. Could the man be Cpl. Torrie?

This is probably not the dog, "Peveril" of Chapter 15 of "North to Adventure". Could this have been a house pet of Monty and Nick? Not black enough and called an "Eskimo pup", whereas Peveril was brought in from the outside. More on Peveril in W13.

Porch house, picket, bell on side of house. Tall pole (wireless) up the hill. "The government had supplied us with an eight-tube super-heterodyne NE radio set which we had erected with two radio masts 60 feet high for an aerial. This was largely experimental, for it was not for getting orders from our headquarters, but to find out the extent of the usefullness of radio within the Arctic Circle". (Nother to Adventure, p.181).
