The World War II radar station (1943-1945), also referred to as the "Mark's Path" base, was located by the black dot marked "water". The Pinetree Line Gap Filler radar station (1957-1961) was located where the blue square is positioned. The two stations were located somewhat close together but at a different elevation. It is a very steep climb. A pipeline, originally constructed by the "Atlantic Bridge Company", ran from Elliston Cove (where the resupply ships were moored) through Mark's Path right up the side of the ridge to the radar station.
