Official Opening Oct 23, 2015

The Military Communications and Electronics Museum will be holding the Official Opening ceremonies for the New Museum Extension on 23rd October at 1300 hrs.  The extension adds 12000 square feet of gallery space and also includes two new offices, a staff/volunteer lunch room and an additional conference room that seats 30 up to thirty people.  It also includes the latest HVAC system required to meet the stringent humidity standards required for museum, museum grade ultra violet windows and state of the art lighting.

The new gallery is already displaying radio vehicles, communication shelters, a 577 Queen Mary  and a Quad Radar. In the near future, NDHQ is planning on erecting a new Delta Antenna which will enhance the new larger CFARS station located in the extension.  The RCEME branch will also be setting up displays in the extension.  They have been allotted 3000 sq ft of space and will be tenants in the extension until funding is granted for them to build their own museum.  They are planning their official opening in the new year.

Guests attending the official opening will include Snr Communication Branch Members and local dignitaries and serving and retired members of the Branch.  All Branch members are invited to attend the ceremonies.   (More)
