CO conducted an inspection of barrack blocks today and also BB 27 which is being allocated for the airwomen. BB 27 was found to be unsuitable for female habitation being incomplete, so they will be temporarily housed in BB 20.12 Mar 53
The first airwomen contingent from Canada for NATO arrived at 2 (F) Wing. They comprised a flight of 47 persons. They arrived by boat from Canada on the 10 Mar and after two days in Paris, where they were the subject of considerable press relations, they proceeded to 2 (F) Wing. They are under the command of F/O E Cox.

CO conducted inspection of BB 27. Appearance good and a few minor observations noted.

F/L D Pope, SOPA/3 Air Division visited the unit on TD. He inspected the Airwomen's quarters and discussed mutual problems with F/O E Cox, OC Airwomen at this unit.

F/L N Bracher performed the first marriage in the Protestant Chapel between two Service personnel - LAC TG Onarheim and LAW EM Brown. After the ceremony, a delightful reception was held in the Little Theatre.

CO presided at 1st Year Anniversary birthday cake cutting ceremony for Airwomen personnel at this Wing. In the evening an informal Anniversary Party was held in the Airmen's Mess at which a large number of invited guests and friends attended.

S/L S Evans, AFHQ and F/LD Pope, Air Division HQ, visited the unit on Airwomen personnel matters. They conferred with the CO and discussed problems with OC of Airwomen at this unit, F/O E Cox.

S/L Evans and F/L D Pope having concluded their official visit on Airwomen's matters departed for 3 (F) Wing.
6 Aug 54
F/O N Ross of 1 (F) Wing passed through en route to 1 Air Division to attend Airwomen Officers Conference. F/O E Cox and P/O HC Ferguson of this unit also attended.
16 Dec 54
F/L DL Pope and F/O SC Strang arrived from Air Division for discussions with CAdO and the airwomen.
