2 Jun 53
The Coronation Parade in honour of Queen Elizabeth, who was crowned today, was held on the tarmac with approximately 800-900 personnel taking part. Acting CO W/C EHM Walsh took the salute, attended by F/L CM Campbell, Station Adjutant, and Captain de Malglaive, French Liaison Officer. The Unit Chaplains offered special prayers. Attached is the CO's address which was distributed by Air Division HQ for use at the Coronation Parade. Parade was concluded and dismissed just in time to avoid prolonged rain showers which lasted all day. Station stand-down followed the parade.
