Broomball Game – March 1959
The photo depicts the entrance that 430 Squadron made into thr ring just before the start of the broomball game. The Corporal (1st left) is carrying our Squadron flag. The next person (2nd left) is one of the Flight Sergeants from the Squadron. Bill Kumm (3rd left) is carrying a "stuffed hawk" that one of the guys had at home. The "hawk" is carrying a doll dressed as a 421 Squadon Indian in its beak. The 430 Squadron emblem was a "Silver Falcon" while the 421 Squadron emblem was an Indian. The group continues with an assortment of ground crew and pilots from 430 Squadron - all of which appear to be ready for the "big game".
