In December 1961, seven radio announcer operators, who had received their training from the Ryerson Institute of Technology, arrived to work at the various Wing Radio Stations and Network Headquarters in Metz. New studios were completed in Metz and occupied on 15 Apr 61. Network operations did not start from Metz until 21 May, with 1 and 3 Wings carrying the burden until that date. A new short wave antennae has been erected and newscasts are being received daily direct from Canada. CBC are sending tapes of their programmes via Yukon aircraft and they are being received and aired one week later.
