These photos depict an old RCAF trailer that was purchased by a French national and moved to his property to serve as a primary residence. An extension was subsequently constructed as an attachment to the trailer to expand the size of the home. We have been advised that this residence is located near Ham-les-St-Jean, a small village between the airfield and Longuyon.
We have heard that many of the trailers were sold to locals for as little as 200 FF back in 1967. Regardless of the selling price - there were many Canadians that lost a great deal of money when the station was closed and they were transferred back to Canada. Simply put, there was no one to sell their trailers to when the station was closed.
