The following detail has been extracted from a "Be a Good Canadian Overseas" Booklet (ca 1957).

Radio Station

CFGT, the radio voice of number 2 Fighter Wing serves Canadian Forces in the Moselle Valley. It covers the station area and PMQ region and is operated by enthusiastic volunteers. CFGT broadcasts daily from 0700 to 0830 hours and from 1800 to midnight. Local programmes, CBC taped shows, and direct CBC news via a shortwave receiving station located at 601 Squadron microwave relay site combine to provide a variety of listening items. In addition, many inter-section sports events covering both 2 (F) Wing and other units of Air Division are covered by CFGT's enthusiastic sportcasters.


CFGT, initially operated with 10 watts at 1620 and commenced operations in December 1954.
